Location, location, location! The Riu is perfectly situation in close proximity to the Wharf and a whole host of shops, restaurants and bars. This is the hotel’s biggest plus. Inside, the lobby is pretty and inviting. Staff are nice. Breakfast (included) is hearty, with eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, yogurt, pastries and more. It’s on the level of all-inclusive resorts and very nice to have.
Downsides: Rooms are just OK. Beds are comfortable. Bathrooms are TINY. Walls (and ceilings) are thin, with noise coming from neighbors and floors above. A fan app on our phone helped drown it out a bit. This is not a quiet hotel. The room HVAC was a little tricky but sufficient.
I would go back in the future, but probably ask for a higher floor (we were on the second) to minimize noise.

We had a deluxe king room. The room was small and basic, but sparkly clean and had a very comfortable bed. We really liked the location. It was very central to everything we wanted to do.

Requested jetted tub hot water pressure was extremely low with Luke warm water husband has sciatica and muscular sclerosis and wasn’t able to soak his joints he was in a lot of pain and we couldn’t enough the amenities of the hotel like the outside hot tub because it was raining
